How much should be applied to the spring? I've read that too much isn't good, but how much is too much?

yea Jon a little more then that but not much more.

if you want to get crazy put tar on the tophat on the spring guide and on the inside of the piston.
and keep the spring the way it is.

Okay cool - this gives me a good idea now. I didn't want to put too much at first and thought maybe a little less would be better than over doing it. Now all I did was rub the tar on the spring back and forth with my hands. Do you actually work some of the tar in between the springs too, or would it kinda work its way in as you fire it?
