Just joined this site a couple of weeks ago, right after I got my Big Cat. Found this site while looking for info about air rifles. I found out in a hurry that pellets can make all the diffrence in your shot groups. I just got done with my own comparison of 8 different pellets. My Cat doesn't like Crosman pointed, but the crosman wad cutter competition aren't to bad. The Cat likes Gamo Match 7.71 gr. or RWS Meisterkugen 8.2 gr. I'll get pictures of my targets and post them as soon as I can.
Got the pics, all targets were shot at 25' (my garage is only 30' long) from a bench rest, 3 shots per bullseye 4 bulls per target. tried to make every shot count, all were shot in one session. hope this helps.
The RWS pellets seem to be the best quality pellets, clean, uniform in size. Gamo match had the best shot group. Crosman wad cutters had an ok shot group and $4 for 500 makes them the best value. Gamo Hunter and Magnum pellets were ok size was not consistent some tight some loose on the hunter target group#4 all three pellets fit the same and stacked all three pellets. Crosman pointed were crazy, shot high and right with a large shot group. Cheapo china pellets did ok for as crapy as the the pellets fit, very inconsistant sizes, skirts were not round on most.

Wow, that really goes to show us how different the model gun shoots the same pellets different..My gun probably has chipped seals or something like that because I'm getting virtical stringing alot. and i'm not even getting close to punching threw 1/2 inch ply wood anymore at 35 yards.. As you might have seen in my thread about that crosman pointed, I can stack a little more then half of the pellets that i shot, making it into a big ragged hole.. 22 shots and 12 of them into a raggedy hole at 15 yards (45 feet). I had a couple of wanders, but nothing far.. I was shooting the Crosman ptd ones out of the 300 count tin... which makes them weigh only 7.4 grains instead of the said 7.9

Welcome Lampy, I'm glad you pretty much found the same thing I did. I just started shooting my Big Cat agian, but now I have a 4-16x40AO scope on it. As far as groups go I think I did the best with Gamo Match that I got in the Gamo pellet sampler. The last 5 shot group I shot was 1/4" with the exceiption of one pellet off by an inch. I've ordered a gold trigger for it and I think this will solve the flyer problem. For hunting, I found the RWS Superpoint was most accurate and good penetration. After all of my experience shooting my Whisper .22 w/air ventri the one thing I can say is, what a great value the Big Cat is.

I've been having issues with the trigger, have shot close to 1000 pellets, I'll give it another 1000 and play with the second stage adjustment and see what happens.

I noticed that with my Big Cat after 1000 shots the action of the trigger smoothed out but after using a gold trigger I saw how bad the stock trigger is. Its unpredictable, I line up on my target and pull and keep pulling and pulling. Finaly it shoots but by then I've had to much time to think about it.
