Hey just got a new pellet gun, got the crosman 3576! Well for my first shooting experience with it i used really soft crappy nameless pellets. with those i was hard-pressed to find more than 2 pellets that were uniform. now im using Daisy max precision flat nosed pellets, but those werent very accurate at all. 5 questions: One, will using really soft pellets damage my rifled bore? Two, are Daisy max precision flat nosed pellets any good? Three, are flat nosed pellets the same as wadcutters? Four, which pellets would you recommend for a crosman 3576? And five, the crappy soft pellets had vertical grooves on the skirt. does this have any positive effect?

Thanks so much, Zack

Flat pellets are normally wadcutters. I personally wouldn't waste my money on Daisy pellets. Pure lead or "soft" pellets won't hurt your barrel and actually lube your barrel over time improving accuracy. Try some quality pellets like Crosman Premiers, Beemans, RWS, and even Gamos and stick with those that perform the best.

Welcome to the neighborhood.

Zack, I just joined this site a couple of weeks ago and this seems to be a common question. What I did and I've seen it suggested on here several times is buy several different brands and types of pellets try them all and see witch ones perform the best. I have seen sample packs of pellets advertized on some web sites wich is probably the cheapest way to try a variety of pellets. I tried about 8 different pellets and settled on Gamo match wad cutters which is great cause they are cheap and all I do is shoot paper targets. I did post the results in a thread " pellet comparison" if you are interested.
have fun!
