I am a new member of the springer family and for my first rifle I purchased a Crosman Storm XT with 3-9x30 scope. It uses a pretty cheap pinch type mount which I'm not real thrilled over, but hey... it shoots well and was cheap. I'm hitting a 1.5" circle consistently at 50 yards with only about 150 pellets through the rifle.
Anyhow, my question is regarding the scope slide stop. Does is go in front of or behind the first mounting ring? The instructions were not clear on this.
Second question. Has anyone upgraded their rifle which has the slots cut to use a better mounting system?
Thanks!

Welcome to AirgunOne MW2B! Wow! Your Storm XT is great! I can't do that kind of grouping at 50 yards with my G-1. :D
Normally the scope stop is located behind the scope mount nearest you. That means it is near the end of the compression tube and the trigger unit. it goes the same whether you use a 2-mount or a single piece mount system. Hope this helps.

Understood. I appreciate the help. I think I am probably going to upgrade to a one piece mount like the ones on ebay withe the built in stop. I'll probably even get a mount (I think they are called Z mounts) to slide the scope back a few more inches closer to my eye. The scope is just mounted too far away when I have the power cranked that I can't get a good picture.
I have been super impressed with this rifle so far. I need to find the time to really strip it down and do a polish on all the sliding bits.

Nice! Show us some pics when you have bought and installed that Z-mount on your XT. I had the same issue with my G-1, I had to lean closer to the eyepiece just to have a decent scope view. What I did to correct that issue was to shorten the butt pad. Worked just fine for me. :D
