I picked up an RS2 at a pawn shop for $75, it's like new no dings, dents or blems. It had both barrels and the allen wrenches an extra barrel set screw and breach seal.
My first impression this thing is loooong, 45" two inches longer than my Big Cat. Cocking effort is pretty heavy, you have to give an extra pull at the end to get it to lock. Once you get used to it its not bad, just takes some getting used to.
Fit and finish is good, nice wood stock. Didn't use the Iron sights, but they look like they are decent. The scope seems to be okay. With the rear sight lowered all the way down I can still see the adjustment knob in the scope but not enough to bother me.
I did notice a little bit of spring twang (not as much as the Big Cat) Trigger is nice and crisp, very predictable. Chronied at 976 fps with 7.71 gr. Gamo match .177 and 700 fps with 14 gr. .22 beeman match. It doesn't seem to be to particular on what pellets you use. I tried 5 different .177 pellets and 4 of them grouped fairly well, POI didn't change much from pellet to pellet either.
Switching barrels is easy, one set screw holds the barrel in place. The only draw back is you have to rezero every time you change barrels.
All in all I'm very happy with this rifle, I had been thinking about this rifle every time I walked by it at Walmart, glad I found a used one.:D
In the pic bellow is my pellet test, 10 shot groups fired at 10 yds from a bench, was trying to find which pellet the gun likes, the Beeman coated wadcutters grouped the best in .177 cal. The 2 fliers in the Gamo group might have been me have to try them again to make sure. All the .177 pellets are wadcutters except the middle target they are hollow points.
The .22 barrel seems to be just as forgiving on pellet choice as the .177. Not counting the one flier the Beeman bearcubs seem to be the right choice for .22 cal. The CPHP's would have the tighter group except for two pellets above the other 8, have to do some more shooting.:D(sorry about the sidways pics)

Looks like you found a keeper. :thumb: Good groups . I have an RS-2 and it is a decent shooter too. I just use the .22 calibre barrel as I have enough AGs in .177. To have a sleeker look I completly removed the rear sight , plus it interfered with my sight picture at times in the scope.::D

Good shooting.

I'm gonna have to do more shootin before I decide which cal. barrel will be my main shooter I'm leaning towards the .22 also. I've got the Big Cat in .177 for 900+ fps. I like the 700 fps .22 the RS2 gives me.
