I usually make my special spinach artichoke dip for TG but this year I ended up making all the sides (not sure how that happened). The weather is perfect outside and I'm sitting here doing all the prep work so when I get to the inlaws all I have to do is start cooking and downing beer after beer. Happy Thanksgiving you guys and yes, thanks for this great little place...

Happy Thanksgiving Ya'll. I can complain about the fact that I won't be with family for the holidays, but it doesn't compare to all of our hard working men and women that are stuck over seas with our military. I talked to a fellow that was sitting in the airport with me yesterday. He has been in Iraq for the last two years and was allowed to come home for 10 days to see his family over the holidays. I don't have it bad at all. It was nice to talk to someone from a younger generation that was more mature and polite than most adults 20 years his senior. He addressed me as 'sir' and wore his uniform proudly. This young man is the example of our professional military that so many take for granted. I give thanks and prayers to all of them.

how easy we forget Ralph what its all about.last year this time i was in SAV GA airport waiting for my luggage to come around.
i see a duffel bag making its way around..it was completely ranskacked.all its inners was strung out.a HUGE young black army man gathers it all up and neatly reloads his goods.he simply faced the flag on the wall and saluted.who knows what that fighting man just days earlier was going thru.i thought ''he sure is a gentleman"
i do believe those guys/gals that do get to come home for thanksgiving really do understand what its all about.
