Here it is Craig, I gotta fabricate something to sit on the moving end of the clamp but it worked great on the recon.
I'll post a picture of the spring on the "Broke Spring" thread, I have a question before I use any spacers.
Disclaimer: Don't try this at home.

That's funny, I knew it wouldn't be long before a socket comment lol
I definitely wouldn't attempt that with a Magnum, although it was very stable as I was backing it out.
I already know what I'm gonna do about that but i couldn't wait to give er a try.

I have found taking them apart is easier than getting them back together, even worse with a new spring. Every time I tweak my compressor a little trying to make it better.I found a great use for a 10mm socket,I use it to help putting on a new seal. First I warm the seal in hot water then put it on the socket then line it up with the pistonl and slide the seal off the socket right onto the piston. It makes it a lot more easy and no screwdriver marks on the seal or my hands:thumb:

I just did the ole 10mm socket trick.........that's the cat's azz!! I sure am glad you shared that Phil, I think I would still be fighting.
Held it in my hand under hot water for about a minute, popped it on a socket, lined the socket up on the piston and while applying pressure to the top of the socket slipped right on no problems!!
