I'm a geek, so I couldn't help but review the spacing calculations.

Looks like this sheet will always guarantee a minimum 1/8" of excess space across the total number of coils.

I presume this will help to account for errors, grease, and debris over time. Makes sense that you'd never want the coils to touch one another each time the spring is compressed as well.

that is correct it will always give you that tolerance as to not risk binding the coils
