Okay, I have a whisper and have gotten about 500 pellets through it since its "turbo tune", and still so far the only thing that it likes are crosman premier hollow points. nothing even comes close to them for accuracy in my rifle.
I have tried predators, premier domed, a bunch of the gamo's, and premier pointeds. the pointeds and the predators were equally horrible.
now I am starting to get a few CPHP that are flying goofy, about one out of every 8-10. I can get a nice group (about a dime) and then a flyer an inch away.
is this normal? maybe just a bad tin? maybe I am flinching?
I am using a crosman scope 4x32 at 10 yards in the basement. I plan to get a new scope for Christmas and take it to the range for sighting at longer distances.

Hey Mark does your scope have an AO? Is your flyer usually on the same area or is it random?

sounds like you gained some power and speed with your tune, you may want to try heavier pellets.
Crow Mags, field Target Special, Ram Jets, basically a pellet 8.5 to 9 or 10 grain.
lighter pellets do give poor accuracy at high speed.
Crosman pellets work poorly in my tuned gun.

Does the turbo tune come with the gold trigger? I've noticed that with any of my rifles that don't have a sweet trigger, I tend to pull a shot or two on occasion. Just a thought.

thanks for the replies.
RCnMo- yes, I have the gold trigger.
Jon- my scope doesn't have much of anything. just a plain jane 4 power crosman. the flyer seems to usually go up and to the right.
craigfperry- I had not considered that. my tune numbers show the fps went up about 50 ish if I remember right, putting me at 960 or so. what pellet would you recommend for squirrel hunting at 50 yards max?

Crow Mags or Field Target Specials.
960 is to fast for a pellet that is under 8 gr.
Mark - I've had the same problem many times before and sometimes it's a pain to figure out, especially if a number of factors are playing in at once. Sometimes it's a non ao scope at shorter ranges and that's usually figured out by shooting further at like 30-40 yards or so (or right at or past where the parallax is factory set), or by getting an AO scope. Up and to the right happens to me sometimes when I pull the trigger wrong (I'm right handed). As craig mentioned, it can be the pellets too. Sometimes I get decent groups and a flyer here and there and it's attributed to the quality of the pellets (not every one being uniform or a slightly bent skirt). If you're already getting good groups with the occasional flyer, it may only be one or a few things causing it and shouldn't be too difficult to figure out with a little patience. Keep us posted!

thanks again guys.
craigfperry- can you provide me a link to where I can get the cro-mags and field target specials?
how rounded off are the field targets? the premier domed seemed to not work so great for me.

will do.
Can you tell me if there is a link on that page I should be using? I couldn't find any sort of sample pack there, I may have missed it.
how would you like to do this?
I know straight shooters has a sampler as well: http://www.straightshooters.com/straightshooters/sssampler.html

Pyramydair has the Cro-mags. Buy three tins of pellets and the forth one is free. They may ship you dented cans though. I haven't had very good luck with their shipping department lately.
