WT FB - Those bargains are sure pulling my strings. :D Do you have any idea or does anyone know where these refurbished guns come from? Are they warranty returns? Who refurbishes them? What does refurbish mean - wipe them off and stick them in a new box? I returned a gun once to Cabellas that practically destroyed itself after about 200 pellets. I sure wouldn't want one like that regardless of how it was remanufactured.

According to this AirgunDepot page -- which is the site that everything on Airgun Daily comes from -- they "are air rifles and air pistols that have been returned to the manufacturer and reconditioned to new specs, but cannot be sold as new. These items are inspected, given a solid manufacturer's warranty, and sold as 'Remanufactured' at a discounted rate. Our return policy is the same on these items as on new items, so this is a great way to save money on your favorite air rifles and air pistols! All remanufactured items have a 30 day warranty."

Are they warranty returns?

Not sure why else they would be returned to the Manufacturer, but I guess there might be other reasons... ?

Who refurbishes them?

According to the statement above, "they ... have been returned to the manufacturer and reconditioned to new specs,"

What does refurbish mean - wipe them off and stick them in a new box?

According to Webster's Dictionary, refurbish means:
1: to restore to a former better state
2: to restore to life, vigor, or activity

I returned a gun once to Cabellas that practically destroyed itself after about 200 pellets. I sure wouldn't want one like that regardless of how it was remanufactured.

Don't blame you there. Was that the Winchester 1000X you told me about?

:attention: I would personally like to hear from someone who has bought a Refurb and what he/she/they think of Refurbished Airguns in general.

Yes and Yes - good idea. May have to spring for one of these refurbs just to quench my thirst. Not quite sure what would be the best rifle. Maybe just what seems to be he best price for whatever.:D

The link in my previous post is to a Refurb Airgun page. They have a ton of them listed there -- about half of which are "Out of Stock" (all of the ones that I am interested in are in that catagory.. :( ). Evindently they sell a lot of them... All of the guns there have a View Reviews! (http://www.airgundepot.com/crosman-airguns-pump-760p.html#scProductReviews) link -- that might be a good place to start.

I posted a new thread on the General Airgun Forum (http://www.airgunone.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=2) asking for some input -- hopefully we will learn something.

Really, I think you should get a PCP -- like an AirForce Condor. That way you can knock those tree rats all the way to San Marcos.
