Good info Lamp. :thumb: I did some of those mods to my 853 and I can honestly say there was a noticeable improvement. Not great but better than stock. Another source, in hard copy, is a booklet authored by Col. Tom Johnson of CMP (Civilian Marksman Program). The title is "Tom Johnson’s Sporter Tips, Care & Servicing". It was either free or I was charged a nominal fee for the booklet. I like it because I can have the instructions on my workbench when messing with the rifle. It also gives instructions on how to modify the stock to accommodate the shooter. I’m not sure if you can order the booklet on line, or if it’s still available, but you can call CMP at 419-953-2141 to see if it still can be ordered.
