View Full Version : 11mm to Weaver Adapter Success
I've tried a few 11mm - weaver adapters on the market in the past and none of them really held on well for me. Using my Panther with the weaver riser mount made me want one for all my airguns because I'm constantly taking the gun apart and hate re-attaching my scopes over and over. I decided to try this one:

Since the adapter only has 2 rail screws, I made extra sure I secured it good with loctite as well as added a little loctite to the rails themselves, then wiped all the excess off.
I paired it up with these rings:

I made hash marks on the receiver and mount with a sharpie to check for movement and after 150 rounds, it hasn't moved even a hair. I'm starting to really like this setup. If I want to tear into the gun all I have to do is remove the rings with scope in it all together, and when I'm ready just slap it back on. Makes life for me so much more easier...
RCnMo 12-11-2008, 03:58 PM I wish airguns came with weaver mounts. Much nicer than the outdated grooves.
killdawabbit 12-12-2008, 05:59 AM how well does the adapter clamp to the dovetail? I ask because I have a gamo whisper, and I haven't been happy with anything I have seen.
for my accushot I drilled out their stop pin that came with it and re-tappped it to fit the original gamo pin so it wasn't so loose.
I've noticed I also prefer a much smaller eye relief than what these units come with.

It clamps up like any other leapers mount I've had - but it only has 2 bolts. It hasn't moved so far yet though. You can always drill out and tap another hole in it if you have a drill press/mill if you really wanted to. I also fitted the mount when the rifle was apart, so I could actually see the stop pin from the inside of the compression tube and make sure it was in all the way, but not to far to where it would keep the piston from coming out should I ever want to strip the rifle again. I wanted it to be more of a permanent attachment to the rifle without having to remove it all the time I took the rifle apart.
As far as eye relief goes, the scope in the pic is 14" and where it's at gives me about 1" relief. Hope this helps...
Jon, I have three and I’m very happy with them. However, they are mounted on a QB78, a QB79 and a QB88. They work well. Of course, none of which have excessive recoil or no recoil at all.
Here is another source at $16.99 (shipping included):

Same here. No where near the recoil of a spring piston airgun,
but I used one, after removing the canilevered portion, to adapt
a laser to a Condor.

Cool! What kind of laser is that?
It's an Aim Sports LG002 green laser.

I wanted to upgrade to a green daytime laser and this one caught my
eye because it is turret adjustable. I grew tired of having to carry
and use a hex key (Allen wrench) to adjust to different ranges out in the
field.

It's kind of big, with a one inch body tube that fits nicely into a one inch
scope mount and has a length of 4.875 (4 7/8").

I've only had it for a few weeks, but it's already claimed 370+
pigeons (I do pest control). It's extremely convenient being able to set up
for different ranges without tools. It's also so much easier to see in the
daylight than the red laser that I've used for the past two years.
It shows any dust in the air, so you can usually see the whole
beam all of the way to the target.

It was designed for military weapons, so it's a little more robust, heavier
and powerful than actually needed for an airgun.
Very nice! Thanks for all the pics! Yeah, the turrets are what caught my eye. Where'd you pick that up from? I'm thinking of doing a laser setup for some rat killin' at night...
Yeah, a laser's great for ratting. I was using this one out on the
Teanaway river last night.
I bought it at combat optical. I heard about it from a friend over in
Iraq who uses one in that mess. I figured that if it can survive over
in that harsh environment, it would suffice for pest control.

Nice setup CW1. :thumb:
BTW, I just found one with four rail screws. More secure me thinks.

That would probably be more secure and better choice for a springer.

Jon,
Just received my weaver setup from PA :thumb:... on that stop screw, did you modify it any (grind some length from the end)? I didn't, just mounted as is, but I see what you mean as far as piston removal goes. I just tuned this one, so don't plan on going back in soon.
Just curious...
Letting the loc-tite setup, then I'll be burning up some pellets this weekend!
Thanks for the idea!
Hey I'm glad it's working for you as well. I didn't modify the mount in any way - I left it as is. I use the first and last notch for my scope rings. It definitely makes working on your gun easier.
