I dont' have any PCPs but as a diver have purchased and used tanks for many years. I just happened to notice that tanks on PA and other airgun retailers are close to double the price they should be.

If you're looking for a tank for your pcp, double check online dive retailers and even local dive shops. A standard 80 cubic foot aluminum tank (3000 psi) should run between 1-150.00 and high pressure steel tanks (3500 psi) around 2-250.00.

One thing you need to know if you buy a used tank make sure it is not made before 1989 the date of mfg. will be stamped into the tank neck if it is a luxfer they had a alloy problem in the older tanks and had a recall and they can't be hydroed or filled. All scuba tanks have to have a pressure test every 5 years it's called a hydro, because it is done in water the tank is brought up to 8/5 of working pressure and it is filled with water when the test is done water doesn't explode like air can. if the tank fails it can never be filled again. this it done by dive shop or a d.o.t. approved shop. So when buying check for a current hydor date it will be stamped into the metal near the neck with the date of the test and the month and year of when it was tested. the visual is only a dive shop done every year to look into the tank for any rust or cracks . ect. I know what i am talking about I hold a master diver certification as well as nitrox. howie
