I'm more into the machinist side of AG's so it looks like this site may be more suited for that. Never had to make my living at it but a quarter century in the AF got in the way. Have had two years of formal machinist training and currently have a small home machine shop . Dad was a master machinist all his life and I learned a tad from him too..

By the way Paul, I just got the G4003 12 X 36. Seems to be a great machine. Would of got the gunsmith model but did want the pedestals..My neighbor got that model and the basic machine is identical. Still tweaking and haven't run a test bar yet..

Great to have ya here Moe and congrats on your new lathe! I hope it wasn't too difficult to register here and figure out at least the basic functions. If you have any issues, let us know - we're still in the testing phase ourselves as well...
