View Full Version : Yellow Monster Lives
Splash 01-02-2009, 09:04 AM So I guess I'll keep it. I had my doubts at first, quite a few small problems, but they were easy enough to correct. I've still got some minor adjustments to make and connect the DRO, then it will be ready to work. Sorry no pics yet.
That's great news Mike, I'm glad you're getting it all sorted out.
Splash 01-02-2009, 09:19 AM It's been an adventure, but it's starting to come together.
RCnMo 01-02-2009, 11:25 AM Congrats on the new metal eater. Before long, you'll have doubled the cost of your machine in tooling. Can't wait to see pics.
Robin A 01-03-2009, 06:16 AM Glad to hear it's working out for ya Mike. That's way too heavy to move............Robin
Splash 01-03-2009, 06:26 AM I've still got to move it:( got a pallet jack coming next week though.:thumb: I'm just glad that I was able to correct a few small problems and didn't have to ship it back. That would have been a biatch.
Robin A 01-03-2009, 06:28 AM Hey,if help is needed I'm off till Mon.I still have a way around.SPORTSTER................Robin
Splash 01-03-2009, 06:50 AM Thanks Robin, yes I can use some help. Need to get the benches and some shelves built.
Robin A 01-03-2009, 01:38 PM Say when, looking at some transportation now.
Splash 01-03-2009, 02:28 PM Tomorrow may be good, raining now and still got to get the plywood.
Robin A 01-04-2009, 01:33 PM Hey,I blew that one.The storms knocked out our computer till this afternoon.Get back to me and I'll be glad to come by.
Splash 01-05-2009, 08:28 AM No problem Robin. I did a few things that I knew I shouldn't have and haven't been moving to good, for a few days. There's always next weekend.
Splash 01-07-2009, 07:23 AM My brother came over yesterday afternoon, with a pallet jack and we got the beast moved into position. I'm going to get it leveled up today and fine tune the adjustments. I was hoping to have the shop finished by Christmas, but it'll be OK. Since it's taking this long, I've had a chance to rethink a few things and change them up, so it's better in the long run. I'll have some pics by the weekend.
Splash 01-16-2009, 02:55 PM I've run into a few more problems with this thing.:( Also did some measuring, since it looked abit short, supposed to be 32"between centers, it's 28"barely, 1.125 spindle bore not, 1.005. This thing will be going back and I'm looking elsewhere, for a replacement.
RCnMo 01-16-2009, 03:17 PM Man, that sucks! Hopefully they don't give you too much crap trying to get it sent back.
Splash 01-16-2009, 03:26 PM I'm sure they'll try, but since it's not to the specs advertised, my CCC will make them take it. I had a mini dune buggy that I ordered a few years ago, that was all messed up. I couldn't get them to tell me which of the 4 addresses to ship it back to, so the CCC credited the $2k it cost to fix it.I should have just walked away from this deal, when they offered a $100 discount, if payed by check. Now I see why, must be allot of returns and if paid by check, there's not much you can do.
craigfperry 01-16-2009, 03:26 PM sorry to hear that Mike.
Splash 01-16-2009, 03:27 PM Thanks Craig. Yeah this sucks.
Robin A 01-17-2009, 05:02 AM That's a suck situation Mike.Now if you need some help........YELL.
Robin
Splash 01-17-2009, 05:34 AM Thanks Robin, I'll let you know.
