its an old (15-20 yrs) chinese b3 in .22 cal.... its so old that it has the leather piston seal, no anti- beartrap mech and the trigger is a single peice with the sear built right in. ive been working on it for a while. always wanted a nice little folding stock scoped carbine in .22 and heres what i came up with:

425

426

427

the stock arms are made from flattened copper pipe and the butt is poplar. the whole works pivots on a quarter inch bolt with a quarter inch aluminum rod (attached to the gun with a small chain) to lock it open. enjoy.-matt

shes strong enough for short range hunting and accurate enough to get the job done. (avg. .75 in groups at 10 yds) however i havent tried anything other than crosman hollow points. i dont have a chrono yet but i would say shes shooting between 550 and 600 fps with lead.

a b-3 in .17 shoots 550, you may be under 500 in .22 unless you hopped er up.

i wouldnt say exactly that i hopped it up, but i had to modify it a while back so a modern b3-1 factory replacement spring would fit in there. (the original spring was shorter and had lost most of its power from the previous owner leaving it cocked too long) the gun itself is old and it has a much more robust and sturdy design than my newer b3-1. my new b3 in .177 definately shoots around 550, but this thing seems to hurl .22 lead a bit faster even with the .22's higher ballistics coefficient dis regarded. another interesting point about this gun it its breech and transfer port are both wayy larger than that of the newer model. the breech itself is located in the dead center of the breech block and the transfer port is dead center in the cylinder. the marks on the gun also indicate that it wasnt made by industry brand; etched on the top of the reciever is a lions head which says 'lion brand' underneath. i'll get some pics up after i run an errand. -matt
