If you have a programmable calculator this equation will work:

W(V²)/450240=K

Where
W = weight in grains
V = Velocity in feet per second
K = Kinetic energy in foot pounds
Note that there is implied mutiplication between the
variables W and (V²).

They are handy to have next to your chronograph.
