View Full Version : Spring Presetting Jon 10-31-2008, 06:02 AM On Maccari's site he mentions presetting a spring. What exactly does that mean? craigfperry 10-31-2008, 07:37 AM when you get a new spring it's about three inches to long, hard to get into your gun. when JM sets your spring for you it is only an inch and a half to long, easier to get in the gun. if you have a spring compressor then you don't have to worry about this. if you don't have a sring compressor then i would spend the extra buck for the setting. when you put a JM spring in your gun and cock it the first time you just set the spring yourself. Jon 10-31-2008, 07:50 AM Oh okay makes sense. Thanks Craig... Fix 10-31-2008, 11:34 AM setting a spring sure makes it easier for the average "Joe" to work on his stuff.shortens the spring like 2-3 inches. after yesterdays nightmare i made a rig that goes in my lathe...i can now crunch a spring down and get a stacked length.no more head scratching. i can measure the actual spring length.:woot: moe1942 11-01-2008, 10:00 AM setting a spring sure makes it easier for the average "Joe" to work on his stuff.shortens the spring like 2-3 inches. after yesterdays nightmare i made a rig that goes in my lathe...i can now crunch a spring down and get a stacked length.no more head scratching. i can measure the actual spring length.:woot: Well Paul, how about some details and pictures..
